Samsung's wearables can now access sleep programs with just three days of data
Samsung has announced a major update to its Health app, lowering the barrier to entry for its Sleep Coaching program while adding deeper Strava routing and expanded training tiers for runners.
Previously requiring seven days of tracked sleep logged within a month to get started, Samsung Health v.6.24 lets users start Sleep Coaching with just three days of data collected over a two-week window.
Before starting the program, users complete a quick questionnaire covering sleep regularity, nighttime awakenings, alcohol and caffeine intake, and subjective sleep satisfaction.
By combining survey responses with initial sleep tracking, the app assigns a personalized Sleep Animal avatar and builds a 4- to 8-week behavioral habit plan that dynamically adjusts weekly goals based on shifting sleep patterns.
So, whether you're tracking from the Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Fit 3, or one of its Wear OS smartwatches, this should
Pentagon sleep graphs and daily habit checklists
To make overnight metrics easier to digest, the update introduces a pentagon-shaped Sleep Balance graph—similar to the Fitness Index graph introduced alongside the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.
This consolidates five core indicators—total sleep time, regularity, wake time, sleep satisfaction, and Samsung’s AI-powered Energy Score—into an at-a-glance trend visualization.
Daily morning insight messages provide context on the previous night's rest and link sleep metrics to daily habit checklists, such as avoiding screens before bed, skipping caffeine late in the day, or getting morning sunlight.
A 12-tier Running Coach and native Strava Routes
Alongside sleep tracking, Samsung is expanding its Running Coach feature (requiring Samsung Health v.6.30.2 on Galaxy Watch 8 series or later) from 10 to 12 training tiers.
The two new levels cater directly to intermediate and advanced runners looking for higher benchmark plans, built from historical run data or an initial 12-minute fitness test.
To close the gap with third-party fitness platforms, Samsung has also deepened its partnership with Strava within its ecosystem.
Galaxy users can now import saved Strava Routes directly into Samsung Health for outdoor runs, trail runs, and cycling sessions, and a new post-workout export tool generates customized, shareable social media graphics.
The updates are rolling out progressively to Galaxy smartphones running Android 11 and above.
