Apple postpones watchOS 2 due to bug

Major bug in Apple Watch software update causes delay

Apple's big update to its wearable software program hit a major bump this morning as the company sent out official news that watchOS 2 will be delayed for at least one day.

An Apple Spokesperson sent an official statement to TechCrunch vaguely explaining the situation.

"We have discovered a bug in development of watchOS 2 that is taking a bit longer to fix than we expected," the spokesperson said. "We will not release watchOS 2 today but will shortly."

For those longing for such features as customisable watch faces, third-party complications, and native Watch apps, the delay of watchOS 2 is crushing.

Chances are, the delay will be less than 24-hours long. But, even one hour is too long when there are so many new features on the way. It's all very un-Apple.

The bug delay will not affect the update to iOS 9 for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
