Google’s leaked Fitbit Edge could be the real successor to the Charge 6

The new fitness tracker is expected to include notifications, GPS, an altimeter, up to seven days of battery life, and compatibility with both Android and iOS devices.

After Google's inadvertent reveal of a mysterious tracker in last month's Pixel promotion images, a detailed leak now appears to have revealed both the name and complete design of the device—Fitbit Edge.

Last month, we reported that two unannounced Google devices appeared in FCC and IMDA filings, sparking rumors about a new Fitbit tracker. Many thought it would be the Fitbit Charge 7, but this latest leak points in a different direction.

Android Headlines has now shared exclusive images of the Fitbit Edge, a new fitness tracker with a screen that seems ready to replace Google’s long-running Fitbit Charge series.

This leak gives us the best look so far at the device, which has been quietly gaining attention in recent weeks.

And rather than reviving the Charge name once again, Google now appears to be preparing a fresh replacement under the Fitbit Edge branding.

Leaked images show off the Fitbit Edge design

Google hasn’t launched a new Fitbit Charge since 2023, prompting speculation that it may be discontinuing the series. This latest leak appears to support that idea.

Instead of launching a Charge 7, Google appears to be unveiling the Fitbit Edge, a new tracker that retains many features appreciated in the Charge but offers a more distinct presence compared to the Fitbit Air and Pixel Watch 5.

Based on what’s leaked, the Fitbit Edge will likely offer familiar fitness-focused features, such as a compact display, up to seven days of battery life, notifications, GPS, an altimeter for tracking elevation, and automatic activity recognition.

It also looks like it will support a few Google apps, including Google Maps and Find My Phone, though it probably won’t offer the full smartwatch experience of the Pixel Watch.

Like the Fitbit Air, it could also work with both Android and iOS, giving it a broader reach than the Android-only Pixel Watch 5.

Pricing, finishes and launch timing

The new tracker could arrive this month, which would make sense if Google wants it available for holiday shoppers.

The leaked images also point to a few finishes that line up neatly with Google’s current hardware colors.

So far, the Fitbit Edge has been seen in black, green, and orange. However, as with most Fitbit devices, we expect that more band colors will be released later.

Pricing is still a little harder to pin down, but, if it’s anything like previous Charge devices, the Fitbit Edge could land somewhere around $129 and $199.

That would also see it slot between the $99 Fitbit Air and the much more expensive Pixel Watch 5.

For now, it’s all unofficial leaks and speculation—albeit pretty convincing, since it matches Google’s own leak. Stay tuned over the coming weeks—we’ll monitor whether the Fitbit Edge gets its official announcement.
