Ultrahuman smart ring users can now get free on-demand AFib spot checks

Ring Air and Ring Pro owners across 37 markets can now run 60-second rhythm checks whenever symptoms strike

Ultrahuman has launched Heart Scan, an on-demand heart rhythm feature for the Ultrahuman Ring Air and Ring Pro developed in partnership with health software provider FibriCheck.

While Ultrahuman’s paid AFib Detection PowerPlug has offered continuous, passive overnight rhythm sampling since 2024, Heart Scan gives users an immediate way to check their heart rhythm during daytime symptomatic moments.

Available free to brand's smart ring owners in supported regions, the feature lets users start a 60-second spot check directly from the Ultrahuman app dashboard whenever they experience potential arrhythmia symptoms.

Instant symptom spot checks complement passive overnight screening

To take a reading, users hold still for 60 seconds while the ring’s optical photoplethysmography (PPG) sensors capture pulse signals.

FibriCheck’s CE-marked algorithm (CE 1639) then analyzes the data to identify regular rhythms, possible atrial fibrillation, or other potential irregularities.

After each scan, the app generates a clinical-grade FibriCheck PDF report that includes the raw pulse trace, a tachogram, and a Lorenz plot of beat intervals. Designed to be shared directly with doctors, the export provides clinicians with objective diagnostic data rather than relying solely on post-hoc symptom descriptions.

Heart Scan is available in 37 markets, including the UK, EU, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Australia.

The feature requires Ultrahuman app version 4.3.0 on iOS or version 3.2.0.0 on Android, while passive overnight AFib screening remains accessible via the AFib PowerPlug subscription (£4.90/month or £49/year in the UK).
