Disney World Resort has started rolling out its new MagicBand wearable, unveiled last November, to change the way guests experience the park.

Like the first, the MagicBand 2 can serve as a park entry ticket, FastPass+, payment system and even hotel room key. However the new version offers an updated curvier design and a detachable disk that can be put into an accessory called the MagicKeeper.

The MagicKeeper is designed for guests who don't want to carry the device on their wrists, and comes in the form of either a lanyard or a carabiner.

Both the band and MagicKeeper cost $12.99 each and are available to buy at Walt Disney World Resort. The band comes in a bunch of different colours and Disney has already revealed some special edition versions, including a Beauty and the Beast variant.

But Disney's not the only one using wearable tech to enhance the theme park-going experience. Universal Orlando recently unveiled a wearable that will let guests virtually wait in line, freeing them up to go do other things.

The TapuTapu devices will be given to guests entering the Volcano Bay area. As well as holding a place in line, the wearable can be used to trigger water jets, light effects and other surprises around the park.
