Amazon has been showing wearables a lot of deal love recently. We've had Fitbit deals, Fossil deals and now one of our smartwatch faves is getting in on the action, too.

You can currently pick up a 42mm Apple Watch Series 3 for $229, which is down from $309 and therefore a massive $80 off. This deal looks to be only on the GPS model with a silver aluminium case and a white sport band. There's no discount on the LTE version or the new Series 4 just yet, unfortunately.

While it might not be the latest Apple smartwatch, this is still comfortably one of the best smartwatches you can buy. You still get a waterproof design, all the core smartwatch features served up by watchOS 5 and sports tracking features, like built-in GPS and a heart rate monitor.

In terms of what you're missing out on, you don't get to benefit from the bigger design on the Series 4, the haptic feedback skills that now live inside of the Digital Crown and the ECG to deliver health monitoring. But aspects such as battery life and general performance should be very similar.

If you're planning to pull the trigger on this deal, you can, of course, change up the bands if you don't want to stick with the white one. And where better to find an alternative than our carefully curated list of the top Apple Watch bands now available.

As for the deal itself - it's one of the best Watch Series 3 offers we've seen for some time, and we're sure it won't be sticking at that price for too long.
