Route Planning arrives on the Amazfit Balance 2 in update

Amazfit continues to enhance the Balance 2, expanding the watch's navigation toolkit with a new Route Planning feature and a suite of training and usability upgrades.

The update allows users to create routes directly on the budget smartwatch or within the Zepp app, with planned courses syncing across devices for outdoor activities such as running, hiking, and cycling.

This builds on Amazfit’s existing mapping support, which has gradually improved with recent updates, bringing the Balance 2 closer to the navigation experience offered by more established sports watch brands (and its own higher-priced devices, like the T-Rex line).

Beyond route planning, the firmware also introduces Exercise Sound Cues, enabling workout alerts through the watch’s speaker or paired headphones, and adds swimming heart rate support when paired with the Helio Strap.

Additional refinements include improved vibration feedback during workouts, clearer map visuals with added route detail, updates to Zepp Coach training plans, and system optimisations to deliver more stable battery performance.

The update is rolling out in phases, with availability varying by region, and can be installed through the Zepp app once it reaches a compatible device.
