Android Wear 2.0 went live with the LG Watch Sport and LG Watch Style but plenty more smartwatches have now joined the party, thanks to the Wear 2.0 update. However, Asus' ZenWatch lineup is still missing from the list of upgraded smartwatches.
The Taiwanese company announced back in February that it will be rolling out the fresh software to the ZenWatch 2 and ZenWatch 3 in the second quarter of this year, and we now know from a post on the Android Wear Help Forum that the plan is for the update to arrive "end of April/late May".
Earlier this year Asus recently rolled out a fairly significant non 2.0 update for the ZenWatch 3, focusing on performance stability, Eco mode and various other fresh features. The ZenWatch 2, meanwhile, was only treated to security fixes.
When users are eventually able to access the fresh Google OS, they'll be able to enjoy standalone apps, Google Assistant support and smoother messaging.
Keep an eye on this story as we'll keep it up-to-date with the latest Android Wear 2.0 update information for Zenwatch users.
