Startup Hakii has unveiled a new smart headband that packs in open-ear audio, giving exercisers an alternative to bone-conduction headphones and traditional in-ear options.
The stereo, open-ear audio is packed into the 90g headband, which can be adjusted with magnetic clips on both sides to create a more comfortable fit.
As you would expect, there's an IPX5 rating, meaning the headband can resist the likes of sweat and weather elements, with this combined with up to eight hours of total playtime, too.
The stereo sound is powered through 22mm bass drivers, while an algorithm also works to balance the audio by canceling out any far-field noises.
Calls via Bluetooth are also supported through the Hakii Mix, the company says, thanks to the two onboard microphones present.
"By understanding the painful points of bone conduction earphones: excessive head clamping and poor sound quality, we came up with Hakii Mix, an overturning product to improve comfort," said Hakii's
It joins the company's other smart and sporty wearable, the $163 / £140 Hakii Wind - a pair of Bluetooth audio sunglasses - with those looking for a typical pair of workout headphones are catered for with the Hakii Action.
The Mix currently comes in two color options, blue or black, with the company also indicating the headband will be available in more styles - including a sun visor - over the coming months.
It's available to buy for $139 / £119 from Hakii.
