While the Huawei Watch 2 is official and on sale, it doesn't mean the Chinese company is totally abandoning the original Huawei Watch. The Android Wear 2.0 update is coming - although it's still not exactly clear when.
Huawei had originally planned on getting the update out in March - but the Wear 2.0 upgrade bug put paid to that. The current timescale, according to a post on the Android Wear Help Forum is for the update to arrive "end of April/late May". Yep, pretty vague we know - but at least we know it's coming.

The Android Wear 2.0 update for the 2nd-gen Moto 360 (and the Moto 360 Sport) is also marked alongside the Huawei Watch for receiving the update in April/May, as is the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE and the Asus ZenWatch 2 and 3.
Android Wear 2.0 is the biggest update to Google's smartwatch OS so far, and it brings a host of new features, including an emphasis on custom watch faces, fitness and standalone apps. Plus, iPhone users will get a better iOS/Android Wear experience.
