The brand recommends using the pod for 10–20 minutes each session. MitoPOD has an integrated timer, so you won’t need to check the time. After the sessions, folding the pod was quite easy, and it didn’t take up much space. Although it is a bit heavier compared to other pods.

How often should you use a red light therapy pod?
If you’re interested in trying red light therapy pods, you should be ready to use them consistently. Using RLT devices more often than recommended or performing longer sessions will not bring faster or more noticeable results. However, to notice any improvements, it’s necessary to use it consistently for an extended period.
During testing, we found that most RLT pods should be used 3–5 times a week. There’s no need to use RLT devices daily, and we believe using them up to 5 times a week is a realistic way to incorporate them into your routine. You should prepare yourself to use it for at least a couple of months to see any possible improvements.
Sessions might vary from 10 to 30 minutes, depending on your needs and targeted area. However, we recommend checking the brand’s recommendations and following them during your RLT sessions. Each device uses different wavelengths and irradiance levels, which may result in different session durations.
Are red light therapy pods safe?
If you use red light therapy pods, you should follow all instructions. RTL is a non-invasive procedure. Although just like with other at-home devices, there might be side effects.
Red light therapy pods use LED lights instead of UV lights. We only noticed a slight warmth during our tests. However, if your skin is heating up or you feel uncomfortable, you should stop the session. Additionally, the LED lights might be a bit bright.
