A new wearable that monitors women's hormones via sweat has raised significant pre-seed funding.
Hat-tip to our friends at FutureFemHealth for putting the spotlight on a new women’s health wearable.
Persperity Health, a startup from the California Institute of Technology, has raised $1 million in pre-seed funding for its sweat-sensing technology aimed at women.
Persperity’s device monitors hormones such as estradiol and progesterone non-invasively using sweat. It uses a process called iontophoresis to induce sweat on demand, and after analyzing that sweat, can provide insights into ovulation and fertility. It could also provide unique insights into mental health and stress management and menopause symptom tracking.

Dr. Heather Lukas, co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer at Persperity Health, highlighted the broader implications:
“We’re not just creating another wearable device; we’re unlocking a new dimension of personalized health monitoring. By making the invisible visible, we’re empowering women to understand their bodies like never before. This is more than a technological advancement — it’s a revolution in women’s health.”
Women’s health startups have been a theme for this year, but all too many suffer from a lack of funding. It’s great to see something novel attract attention — and we’re hoping that the technology can make a difference to the under-researched areas of menopause.
We’ll be watching this one with interest.
