Dexcom and Oura are teaming up for CGMs, which will integrate into the Oura ecosystem.
Oura and Dexcom are partnering on metabolic health — and they mean big business.
Dexcom has invested $75 million into Oura to make the deal happen, valuing Oura at $5 billion. That works out to just a 1.5% stake in the company — but the details of the deal could have a significant impact.
Users of Dexcom CGMs, including the new over-the-counter Stelo, will now be able to integrate their data into the Oura platform — and vice versa. The two companies will also cross-market each other’s hardware, which could provide a major boost to Oura given Dexcom’s massive reach in the diabetes management space.

According to the press release, the integration will enable users to blend metabolic health data with stress and sleep data — both of which have a significant impact on how the body metabolizes food.
We’ve noted before that when using rival metabolic health services, including the excellent Abbott Lingo, the lack of detailed stress, sleep, and workout data leaves the insights lacking critical context. The combination of Dexcom and Oura data could be a game-changer for overall health management.
That analysis is massively boosted by Oura’s acquisition of Veri earlier this year. This acquisition gives Oura access to huge amounts of data to refine its algorithms and AI.
The company has already moved to add meal tracking to the Oura app as part of the Oura Ring 4 launch, with a focus on meal regularity as a new metric. Currently, the feature is available as part of the Labs section in the app, but it’s clear where Oura is heading.
Oura says the new functionality will roll out in “the first half of 2025.”
Wareable says:
Metabolic health tracking struggles to be truly meaningful without incorporating key lifestyle data, so this partnership has the potential to be transformative. It will be interesting to see the extent to which the two platforms generate actionable insights.
This partnership is a bold move by both companies — especially Oura, which clearly sees metabolic health as a key differentiator in the wearable tech space.
