Fitbit's next fitness tracker detailed
Normally in And finally, we detail the latest wearable tech whispers from around the web but this week is a bit different.
We think we’ve stumbled across Fitbit’s next fitness tracker launch, and we think it’s the Fitbit Alta HR (‘exclusively’ pictured above).
Fitbit Alta HR detailed by… Fitbit
Fitbit CEO James Park recently stated: “Looking forward, we believe Fitbit is in a unique position to stimulate new areas of demand by leveraging the data we collect to deliver a more personalized experience while developing upgraded versions of existing products and launching additional products to expand into new categories.”
One of those “upgraded versions of existing products” looks certain to be the Fitbit Alta HR. We’ve done some digging on local, official, Fitbit sites (like this one), a few of which namecheck the Alta HR, while at the same time carrying the picture above in the source code. Look carefully, it’s not the regular old Alta is it? That strap is very Charge HR-esque and the Fitbit logo on the display is new. And the bpm counter is somewhat of a give-away.
We couldn’t find anything on the Flex HR by the way, but let us know if you do…
Back to the Alta HR and, apart from the inclusion of a heart rate monitor, you’ll be pleased to know that it extends the minute-by-minute memory from five days of recording on the original Alta to six days.
