Tommy Hilfiger TH 24/7 smartwatch joins Coach and Juicy Couture HP hybrids

HP and Movado stick to smart analogue over Apple Watch rivals
Tommy Hilfiger launches TH 24/7 smartwatch

A whole bunch of designer smart analogue watches from Movado and HP are going on sale on 27 October. The list includes the new Tommy Hilfiger TH 24/7 smart analogue watch which has a similar small OLED display on the lower third of its analogue watch face, just like the Hugo Boss Smart Classic - also a HP powered watch.

The TH 24/7 is listed as having two prices - $195 and $225 - and it's actually the cheapest of the options. According to a retail listing that's already gone live in Germany, it's a 46mm watch with a black dial, brown leather strap and mineral glass face.

Luxury watchmaker Movado's brands include Tommy Hilfiger, Coach, Hugo Boss, Lacoste, Juicy Couture and Scuderia Ferrari. Also announced: the Coach Bleeker Smart, Couture Connect (from Juicy Couture) and the Scuderia XX Ultraveloce. These designer smart analogue watches are all $295 (so not cheap) and also go on sale from 27 October.

As for functionality, they are all iOS and Android compatible with an OLED display for displaying smartphone alerts, haptic vibrations, a world clock and basic activity tracking. That's apart from the Juicy Couture watch which acts more like smart jewellery with only an LED for alerts.

All the watches are stainless steel, 5 ATM water resistant and battery life is five days for the smart features - as you'd expect with small screens - with a separate watch battery. There are said to be mens and womens watches and varying sizes but we don't have exact details on all the models yet.

Movado announced it was swelling its smartwatch collection with a host of new devices at the Baselworld 2016 watch fair earlier this year. We've already seen the HP Titan Juxt and the Movado Bold Motion smartwatches go down this hybrid route too.

Sadly, from what we can gather from press pics, HP and Movado don't seemed to have adopted a similar display approach to the one it took with the Isaac Mizrahi watch, which uses an embedded OLED display that's only visible when notifications come through from your phone. We're hoping to see that in 2017's smart analogue collections.

At Baselworld, HP and Movado promised 25 different models in total launching in the US, Canada and Europe before the end of 2016. That's nowhere close to the Fossil Group's target of 100 but it's still impressive if the partnership makes a dint in that number. Stay tuned for more info on this designer smart analogue watches.
