Misfit Flash Cyclist Edition tracks bike rides on the cheap

New Misfit is built for cyclists and comes with Strava and Wahoo support
Misfit Flash Cyclist Edition unveiled

Yes, Misfit has managed to squeeze out another tracker before the end of the year and this time it's one for the two-wheeler lovers.

The Flash Cyclist Edition, which is basically the Misfit Flash, has all the same activity and sleep tracking features but also adds a cadence sensor to make it more bike-friendly.

It uses the same clip holder that comes with the Flash Link so you can wear it on your shoes and works with the most popular cycling apps including Strava, MapMyRide, Wahoo, and iBiker.

There's also a new Misfit Cyclist app for Android and iOS, which collects data on RPMs, distance and speed. It also harnesses your phone's GPS to store riding routes.

Elsewhere it's more of the same. It's water resistant up to 30 metres and is powered by a coin cell battery, which you won't have to charge for at least six months. Like the Flash Link, you can tap into the smart features letting you snap a selfie, control music playback and turn your lights off.

The Flash Cyclist Edition is available now from the Misfit website for a very affordable $50. There's no details on UK prices yet but we'll keep you posted when we know more.

so let me get this right.  I already own a misfit flash, and I need to but another one so I can get the software to use it for cycling?  and, by the way, buy yet another one for swiimming?

Why can't I just upgrade the software - even for a modest price and use my one device?  On principle, I'm done with misfit of now
