Honor, Withings, RIngconn and Circular made up our best in show wearables for IFA 2024
It was a quiet show for wearables at IFA 2024 – but we still got some new releases to shout about.
Read on for our round-up of the best wearables from IFA 2024.
Withings ScanWatch Nova Brilliant
The new ScanWatch Nova Brilliant hybrid smartwatch blends fashion with medical-grade health features. With a refined titanium silver or silver-and-gold finish (pictured above from the show floor), this 39mm hybrid packs in a sapphire glass face and water resistance for up to 50 meters.
It retains the small OLED screen for displaying daily stats and notifications, alongside health tracking tools like ECG for detecting atrial fibrillation, SpO2 for blood oxygen monitoring, and sleep tracking. It also boasts 40+ recognized exercises, fitness assessments via VO2 Max, and connected GPS.
As ever, Withings hybrid watches offer 30-day battery life – night and day from standard smartwatches. It costs $599.95/€599.95/£549.95 makes it a premium option for those who want top-tier health tracking without sacrificing style.
Honor Watch 5
Honor followed up its successful Watch 4 with the Honor Watch 5. Yes, it mimics Apple’s iconic Watch Series, but the Watch 5 is an upgrade on last year’s model.
It’s lightweight at 35g and 11mm thick. And the 1.85-inch AMOLED display with its 450×390 pixel resolution delivers vibrant visuals.
The Honor Watch 5 promises up to 15 days of battery life, and while that will be around a week with all the bells and whistles turned on, it’s a huge improvement on most smartwatches.
On the health front, it includes heart rate and SpO2 tracking, along with the company’s AccuTrack positioning system for enhanced GPS accuracy. Pricing is still TBC – but it will be firmly in the budget smartwatch category.
RingConn Gen 2
After smashing its Kickstarter campaign, Ringconn 2 made an appearance at IFA, offering significant improvements over its predecessor. The most impressive update is its extended battery life, jumping from 7 days to an industry-leading 12 days, all while becoming lighter and thinner. Now weighing just 2-3g with a thickness of 2mm, there’s a lot on offer in a slim and comfortable package.
The RingConn Gen 2 also promises AI-driven analysis of body temperature, heart rate, heart rate variability, SpO2, stress levels, and sleep patterns. Smart rings are hotting up, and this is one to watch.
Circular Ring Slim
More of a minor but welcome update, Circular launched a silver version of its Circular Ring Slim at IFA 2024. The update comes hot on the heels of improved scratch resistance and workout HR, which landed earlier this year.
The Circular Ring Slim provides detailed insights through its Energy Circle, which monitors energy levels throughout the day, and the Activity Circle, which tracks steps, VO2 Max, and calories burned.
And the new Coherence Circle helps users find mental clarity and balance with guided breathing exercises.
