The latest feature drop brings Find Hub to the wrist and trickles down gestures to older hardware
Google’s March 2026 update for the Pixel Watch ecosystem has arrived, and it focuses heavily on bridging the gap between security and convenience.
The headline addition to the brand’s smartwatches is a new proactive phone-protection system, with devices like the Pixel Watch 4 now able to act as a kind of digital leash.
If a user walks away from their handset, the watch immediately issues a haptic alert and automatically locks their phone once they step out of Bluetooth range.
The update also introduces the Find Hub directly to the Wear OS interface. Previously, tracking down lost items required digging into the phone app, but users can now locate misplaced devices and personal items directly from their wrist (via Google’s Find My Device network).
If the item is nearby, you can trigger a ring; if it’s out of range, the watch provides turn-by-turn map directions to its last known location.
Older hardware gets some love
In a welcome move for those on older hardware, the one-handed gesture controls that debuted on the Pixel Watch 4 have officially trickled down to the Pixel Watch 3.

Users can now answer calls, snap remote photos, or pause a media player using a double-pinch or a wrist rotation—perfect for those moments when your hands are full, or you’re mid-workout.
Safety remains a priority in this update, with standalone earthquake alerts now providing real-time seismic notifications without a phone connection.
Also, Google is significantly widening its safety net, with the Satellite SOS feature expanding beyond the US to Canada, Europe, Alaska, and Hawaii.
And finally, the ‘Express Pay’ option has been streamlined, allowing users to tap-to-pay without manually opening the Google Wallet app, making the Pixel Watch a much more frictionless daily companion.
