Zepp Health has introduced a significant refresh to the companion app for its Amazfit smartwatches, delivering a modernized interface and a new Badges system designed to keep users engaged with their fitness goals.
While these features arrived in the version 10.0 update, the Zepp app has continued to evolve since its initial launch. The update notably reorganized the app’s home screen, replacing the previous “Core Metrics” section with clearer, more distinct areas for activities, training plans, and insights.
The overall layout remains familiar, but the presentation feels more modern—helped along by an updated color palette that uses a wider range of colors to differentiate sections and data at a glance.
Badge of honor
The headline feature addition, however, is a new Badges tab that now sits front and center in the app’s bottom navigation bar, alongside Home, Workout, Aura, and Device.
This new section introduces a new, gamified layer to the Amazfit Zepp experience. Users can earn badges tied to personal bests, achievements, challenges, and longer-term goals. There’s also a view that shows remaining badges yet to be unlocked, encouraging users to continue pushing toward new milestones.
This move aligns with a broader trend across the wearables space, where brands are leaning into software and ecosystem features—rather than just hardware upgrades—to drive long-term engagement.
By adding achievements and visual rewards directly into its companion app, Amazfit has successfully boosted motivation and retention among its smartwatch users, bringing its ecosystem features in line with other leading fitness platforms.
What about Android users?
The Zepp 10 series is now fully available across both iOS and Android platforms. The update—which brought a refreshed interface and the new gamified Badges system to the app—has successfully rolled out to Android devices, ensuring all users can access these features regardless of their smartphone OS. The experience is consistent across Amazfit’s current smartwatch lineup, including models like Balance 2 and Active Max.
