BON CHARGE Red Light Face Mask review: Is this premium LED mask worth it?

A premium-feeling LED mask that makes consistency easier
BON CHARGE red light mask gives off a premium feel right out of the box. However, while I found it highly comfortable and easy to use routinely, the high price means it’s best suited to skincare enthusiasts willing to commit long-term. Then, the price would be easy to justify, and BON CHARGE’s comfort can pay off. That said, if you’re a beginner or simply looking for a quick fix, then BON CHARGE might not be the optimal choice for you.
Pros
  • Comfortable, flexible silicone construction
  • Easy to wear consistently
  • Premium build quality
  • Straightforward routine integration
Cons
  • Expensive compared to alternatives
  • Requires long-term consistency
  • Improvements may feel gradual and subtle

LED skincare is no longer strictly for dermatologists and clinics. Now, everyone can get their hands on the latest wellness and beauty gadgets, as red light therapy masks are as easy to purchase as moisturizers and serums. And because of this vast choice, it becomes harder and harder to know which devices may offer meaningful benefits and which are just a waste of money.

In this field, price is usually a marker of quality. Still, I set out to test one of the premium RLT masks, BON CHARGE, to see if the high price actually justifies itself or is just another over-marketed beauty device.

Over eight weeks of testing, I evaluated whether BON CHARGE’s flexible silicone design, comfort, and ease of use made it feel meaningfully different from cheaper LED masks. And, ultimately, does it justify its premium price?

What BON CHARGE is meant to do

The BON CHARGE Red Light FaceTherapy Mask is designed to bring LED skincare into at-home beauty routines. Like its competitors, Omnilux and CurrentBody, it combines red and near-infrared light in a comfortable, moldable face mask designed for easy, consistent use.

BON CHARGE firmly positions itself as a premium brand, and its prices reflect that. So, if you decide to choose it, remember that it comes with a steep initial price. That said, the higher price obviously comes with its benefits, too, including high comfort and convenience, creating an experience that, to me, felt easy to maintain over time.

As for the technology itself, you must remember that red light and near-infrared light serve slightly different purposes within LED skincare. While red light is commonly associated with supporting skin appearance, near-infrared light may potentially reach deeper tissues beneath the skin surface. In BON CHARGE’s case, the device combines both light colors, which may make it more helpful than devices that offer only one.

My initial impression of BON CHARGE was that it felt more clinically inspired than cheaper versions of the same technology. However, remember that BON CHARGE is more of an additional tool in your beauty kit than an overnight solution, and while it definitely feels and wears premium, it still won’t replace a visit to a dermatologist or deliver dramatic results immediately.

Does the BON CHARGE mask actually feel premium?

Right from the moment I got my hands on the BON CHARGE Red Light Face Mask box, it looked to me like a premium product. And that’s the thing with top-tier devices—you can feel the price tag the instant you lay your hands on it.

BON CHARGE’s packaging definitely felt polished without feeling excessive, and setup was very straightforward and far from intimidating. However, what impressed me the most was that the mask itself instantly communicated premium positioning in a way that more affordable alternatives often struggle to replicate. This was evident both in the materials and the mask’s sleek design.

Strong focus on comfort

My experience shows that with any RLT devices, consistent use is the most important factor if you expect to see any changes. Naturally, to use anything consistently, the device must be comfortable and easy to integrate into existing routines. And that’s what I found in BON CHARGE.

For starters, the flexible silicone mask made a huge difference for me, as rigid LED masks can sometimes feel awkward to wear. With BON CHARGE, I’d say this issue is non-existent—the soft silicone structure sat nicely against my face and distributed the weight evenly enough, so even longer sessions felt comfortable.

What also added to my perceived comfort were the soft, easy-to-navigate straps, which allowed me to adjust the mask to fit my face contours as closely as possible. Additionally, I didn’t feel any pressure or rubbing, which can become quite irritating very quickly if the fit isn’t right.

I found that BON CHARGE does have slight light leakage, as with most LED masks, but it never became disruptive enough to significantly affect sessions or make the mask uncomfortable to wear while relaxing or moving around the house.

Premium finish over instant results

From what I saw, the overall look, feel, and finish support BON CHARGE’s premium position. All the materials seemed durable and soft, rather than disposable, and nothing suggested that any corners had been cut in terms of design or comfort.

And since I’ve tested numerous RLT devices, I can say that, compared to cheaper options, BON CHARGE gave off a more high-end impression. However, compared to similarly priced options, the differences become less obvious and more hidden in the details, such as overall quality feel, session times, and ease of use.

Overall, rather than dramatically outperforming alternatives, BON CHARGE feels mostly focused on comfort and long-term use. And, in my opinion, this is the strongest selling point of this particular red light therapy mask.

What’s it like to actually use BON CHARGE

Since I’ve been testing various RLT beauty and wellness devices for a while now, including masks, panels, mats, and so on, I noticed that one area in which they often fail is easy habit formation.

The reality with LED masks or any other similar RLT devices is usually pretty simple—if setup feels annoying right away or sessions feel disruptive to your routine, consistency can be quickly forgotten. Even top-tier products can end up stacked in your closet, and routine use becomes hard to maintain.

However, BON CHARGE surpassed my expectations here.

Getting started with BON CHARGE

I really liked that to start using BON CHARGE, I didn’t have to spend a lot of time reading manuals or downloading companion apps. The mask operates via a handheld controller, and all I had to do was charge it, connect it to the mask, and press the power button. That’s it—no need to figure a lot of things out with the automatic 10-minute session timing and very minimal learning time.

Because of its simple setup and comfortable wear, I thought BON CHARGE would easily integrate into almost any routine. You can use it in the mornings or in the evenings, and I bet you’ll find it just as easy as I did.

That level of flexibility matters a lot, as with RLT devices, habitual use is what matters most for any changes in skin appearance.

Is BON CHARGE practical enough?

The short answer is yes: In my opinion, BON CHARGE is practical, premium, and comfortable. For example, since the mask isn’t bulky or rigid, I found it very easy to store and travel with it. Again, this makes consistent use much easier. And while the BON CHARGE doesn't advertise itself as a product designed for travel, I didn’t find it an issue at all.

More importantly, sessions fitted naturally into my existing schedule. For me, morning use felt realistic for quieter starts to the day, while evenings arguably suited the experience even better. Sessions worked comfortably alongside reading, podcasts, emails, or simply taking a short break before bed.

All things aside, the strongest compliment I can give BON CHARGE is that, with prolonged use, it stopped feeling like testing technology and became part of my routine. So, if you’re focused on long-term use of an RLT beauty device, this simple fact may be the decisive factor.

Our daily use experience: easy routine fit and gradual appearance changes

The BON CHARGE RLT mask slipped right into a nice middle ground during testing—it no longer felt like a complicated gadget after just a few days, but it also never ended up being locked down in a drawer and forgotten once the novelty faded. That nice middle-ground landing made it an easy addition to my routine, which is by far one of the most important factors to consider when choosing red light therapy for beauty.

I tested the mask for 8 weeks while sticking to my regular cleanser, serum, and moisturizer routine, without changing anything else.

Week 1–2: Building the habit

In the first two weeks, I mostly enjoyed how easy it was to use, its flexible, soft materials, and its overall comfort. This meant that BON CHARGE quickly became a routine, rather than a disruption. Plus, the comfort and short sessions made it feel less like dedicated treatment time and more like a welcome reprieve.

However, the actual skincare side was harder to evaluate at first. Since changes with red light therapy are usually very gradual and take time to become noticeable at all, I had to be patient. In the first week, I only saw a bit fresher-looking skin and maybe some changes in skin hydration.

There were no dramatic or instant results, and at this point, my skepticism remained.

Week 3–5: Small changes become easier to identify

As my BON CHARGE use became more of a habit and I spent more time using it, the gradual skin improvement became a bit more obvious. At this point, the skin appeared slightly smoother overall with a more even tone. Still, it wasn’t dramatic, and the changes were very gradual.

That said, as the changes became more visible and I grew more comfortable with using BON CHARGE, long-term use felt highly sustainable. And that, as you already might’ve noticed reading this review, is the most important thing for successful RLT.

Week 6–8 and up: Long-term impressions

For me, long-term use proved most beneficial with BON CHARGE, and my advice is to stick with it, even though at first changes might feel barely noticeable. So, over time, I saw the most noticeable improvement in skin tone, an overall glowier complexion, and better skin texture.

Yet, if you expect to see quick anti-aging effects over just a couple of weeks, you’ll likely be disappointed. That’s because the BON CHARGE experience felt much more gradual than marketing may suggest. But that does not make this mask unsuccessful; rather, it underscores that consistent use is key, and you should always set realistic expectations from the start.

Real-life results and realistic expectation

Sometimes, premium RLT skincare devices may create an unexpected gap between marketing claims and the actual experience, making it difficult to set realistic expectations. While BON CHARGE largely avoids this issue, my own experience still showed that at-home red light therapy requires patience, and you shouldn’t expect a dramatic transformation.

For me, the most noticeable changes were in overall skin appearance rather than in correcting more prominent issues like acne. Yes, I did see improved brightness, changes in texture, and better hydration, but it took time, and it still wasn’t over-the-top noticeable.

I also found that using BON CHARGE did not feel like a replacement for professional skincare treatments, nor did it resemble the before-and-after transformations you might often see in beauty ads. So, expectations around acne, redness, and fine lines deserve caution—while some users may potentially notice gradual improvements over time, the results may still vary.

What about the placebo effect?

Even the high-end wellness products introduce some placebo concerns. This is simply because spending money and committing weeks to routine does shape perception. And what gave BON CHARGE most credibility wasn’t dramatic change, but gradual improvements and a routine that felt realistic to maintain.

To sum it up, RLT skincare may work its best for long-term maintenance as an additional tool in your kit rather than a short-term boost in appearance.

Price and value

Given that BON CHARGE is a premium-priced device, its overall value may still be a big question for you. From a hardware perspective, the high-end positioning makes sense to me. The overall build quality is short of exceptional, comfort is well considered, and my experience with BON CHARGE supports the higher price point.

However, RLT technology rarely succeeds purely because it is premium. Consistent, patient, long-term commitment truly matters with red light therapy. Ultimately, this may mean that the experience and perceived results must always justify both the money and the routine.

If I were to compare the whole BON CHARGE experience with repeated professional appointments or supportive spa treatments, an at-home RLT device may become easier to justify over time. While it is not a replacement for either, it is a highly convenient maintenance tool that can remove friction from busy schedules, which, in my opinion, plays a huge role.

However, if I were to pit BON CHARGE against other LED masks, the comparison becomes a bit more complicated. For example, premium alternatives like Omnilux and CurrentBody offer a similarly established position with greater emphasis on clinical inspiration, while budget-tier RLT masks are obviously more attractive given their lower prices.

Overall, BON CHARGE certainly feels more premium than cheaper options, demonstrating its value in comfort, convenience, and a premium finish. For me, the harder question was whether that premium experience justified paying a noticeably larger sum. For you, the answer will probably depend on how committed you are to maintaining a steady routine with this skincare technology.

Who should buy BON CHARGE and who should skip it?

Although BON CHARGE has proven its premium price to me in terms of comfort and convenience, I think that if you’re about to spend a hefty sum on an RLT device, you should be informed about your other options, too. So, here’s how BON CHARGE Red Light Face Mask compares to some of my favorite high-end red light therapy masks that I’ve tested earlier:

Omnilux Contour Face

  • More clinically focused positioning
  • Strong reputation within premium LED skincare
  • Good fit for buyers prioritizing skincare-first credibility

CurrentBody Skin LED Mask

  • Premium overall experience
  • Strong comfort and usability focus
  • Appeals to users looking for an established premium LED option

HigherDOSE LED Mask

  • More wellness and lifestyle-oriented positioning
  • May suit buyers already investing heavily in wellness technology
  • Broader wellness focus compared with skincare-led competitors

However, throughout testing, BON CHARGE still felt the strongest option for everyday usability. The flexible, soft silicone design made my sessions easy to maintain, and this level of convenience led me to choose BON CHARGE over its competitors.

Overall, I may recommend BON CHARGE for skincare enthusiasts and those willing to commit to consistency over time, which isn’t that hard with this particular RLT mask. However, if you expect instant, very noticeable changes, are a complete beginner, are still unsure whether you need RLT skincare in your routine, or are hesitant about premium pricing, you may want to look into alternatives first.

Final thoughts

After testing the BON CHARGE red light therapy mask for over eight weeks, I found its success lies not in some dramatic skin transformations, but in convenience and sustainable long-term use. In my opinion, its premium build quality feels genuine rather than just marketing, the flexible silicone design makes it very comfortable to wear, and the overall experience fits nicely into my routine.

That said, skin changes definitely felt more gradual than instant and very obvious. I mostly saw improvements in brightness, skin appearance, and subtle texture observations, rather than correction-focused outcomes. So, remember to set realistic expectations and prepare yourself for long-term, consistent use.

Because BON CHARGE Red Light Face Mask is a premium-priced device, it may make the most sense for skincare enthusiasts or those looking to invest in a comfortable, long-term option. However, for complete beginners, more affordable alternatives may make more sense initially.

Ultimately, to me, BON CHARGE felt like a worthwhile investment, provided I kept my expectations realistic.
