In honor of Mental Health Day (Thursday 10 October), Apple has a limited-edition award for Apple Watch users up for grabs.
To raise awareness about mental health and promote self-care, users can earn the badge by logging at least 10 mindful minutes using any app that syncs with the Health app on their iPhones.
This includes Apple’s own Mindfulness app available on Apple Watch.

And Apple is also highlighting some of the mental health-boosting features of its smartwatch:
The State of Mind feature on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch allows you to log your momentary emotions and daily moods, seeing valuable insights on what might be contributing to your state of mind — whether it’s associations or lifestyle factors, such as sleep or exercise.
You can also track daylight exposure on the Apple Watch.
Apple said: “Studies show spending 15 – 30 minutes outdoors can reduce anxiety, and stress levels and increase positive feelings.
With the Apple Watch, you can track your time spent in daylight with the ambient light sensor, and you can view the amount of time in the Health app. And for family members with a managed Apple Watch, you can also monitor how much time they spend in daylight.”
Finally, Apple recommends using the Focus feature to set boundaries on notifications.
“Focus is a feature that helps you reduce distractions and set boundaries. “When you want to concentrate on a specific activity, you can customize one of the provided Focus options — for example, Work, Personal, or Sleep — or create a custom Focus.”
