About a week ago Apple had to pull watchOS 5.1, the latest software update, as some Apple Watch users were reporting that it was bricking their smartwatch.

Apple's just released 5.1.1, which fixes the bug that led to the bricking issue, so you can update without the fear of turning your expensive Apple Watch into an expensive desk decoration.

If you were one of the unfortunate few who got their Apple Watch bricked, your only option is to contact Apple. The Cupertino company has been sending replacement smartwatches. Unfortunately, there's no real way you can plug the Apple Watch into your computer to fix it.

watchOS 5.1 brings a couple of new features to the Apple Watch party. There's audio-only group FaceTime from your wrist, you can join in on group calls, and there are 70 brand new emoji to improve your texting game.

If you've got a Series 4, you're also getting a brand new minimalistic watch face called Color. Fall detection is improved and two Walkie Talkie bugs were fixed, too. Naturally, you'll need to download and install iOS 12.1 on your iPhone first.
