Skagen's stylish Hagen Connected watch is now on sale

Fossil keeps those fashionable wearables coming
Skagen Hagen Connected arrives

Skagen, the Danish design company owned by the Fossil Group, has announced its Hagen Connected smartwatch is now on sale.

The watch, which was shown off at September's IFA show, follows the near same design blueprint as Fossil's own smart analogue watches, retaining the same minimalist look as Skagen's dumb timepieces while elegantly adding in the smarts.

There's activity tracking tech developed by Misfit on board to count your steps with a progress dial built into the display (think Wthings Activité Steel) and a built-in vibration motor to give you a buzz when you receive an email or text notification. You'll also be able to customise the type of notifications you get nudged about from the companion app (iOS and Android).

The watch is available in four styles that mix leather, steel-mesh and titanium. There's also a standard coin cell battery powering things, so no need for charging.

Skagen's Link technology will also let you take a photo, ring the phone, control music and track goals from the physical button on the side of the watch case.

Standard watch features include automatic time and date updates for when you move through different time zones, the ability to set up alarms and a dual-time option.

The Hagen Connected smart analogue watch starts at $195 on Skagen's website for the connected leather option, moving up to $215 for the titanium and leather hybrid. Skagen tells us its watches aren't yet available for international order, so we currently don't have UK pricing. We'll let you know when we do.

Later in the year Skagen will also be launching the Connected Activity Tracker that can track steps and monitor sleep. It also comes with interchangeable straps, features the same Link technology and is powered by a standard coin cell battery.

Back in January, the Fossil Group promised to launch more than 100 connected devices before the end of the year with a host of fashionable brands under its wing including Armani, DKNY, Karl Lagerfeld, Diesel and Michael Kors. You can see how the quest to 100 is going in our big roundup of every Fossil Group wearable launched in 2016 so far.

Fossil has struck up a good relationship with its tech partner Intel, so it surely won't be too long before we get to see our first Armani or Michael Kors smart analogue watch too.
