The Garmin Forerunner 955 is a fantastic, feature-packed running watch, and it’s just hit the lowest price we’ve ever seen in the brand’s flash UK store sale.
You can buy it now for £299 – a total saving of £140 on the typical RRP.
Despite being released a couple of years ago, we still rate the Forerunner 955 as an exceptional pick for mid-level and experienced triathletes (but particularly keen runners) looking to upgrade from their first running watch.
It’s heavy on features. There’s offline map support, Spotify playback, and even solar charging if you pay £80 extra. I used it in 2023 to power a marathon training block, and the accuracy and neat touches like on-wrist Running Dynamics made it an exceptional partner.
Garmin Forerunner 955 £140 off
As such, we don’t think you’ll find a better running watch for under £300 this year.
There have been plenty of very good Black Friday deals on Garmins from various retailers (especially on last-gen Epix watches). Yet, the brand’s official store has blown everybody out of the water today (29 November).
In our 2022 review of the Forerunner 955, we praised the addition of Multi-Band GNSS (still the gold standard for accurate tracking), the whopping 10-15 days of battery (even in heavy use), and the introduction of the handy HRV Status and Training Readiness.
Those features have remained at the core of Garmin’s high-tier watches since being introduced on the Forerunner 955. Newer features such as Endurance Score and Hill Score available on the Forerunner 965 (released in 2023) have also trickled down to this model, meaning you’re not missing out on any core functionality.
Garmin is describing its Black Friday participation as a ‘flash sale’, with deals only set to last over the coming weekend and into Monday. However, as ever with spicy offers, it’s not unlikely that stock will run dry before then. We suggest acting fast, as new stock isn’t necessarily being produced for this old-gen model.
