There's no official timeline for release or confirmed features just yet
Elon Musk has suggested that Tesla owners will soon be able to open their cars through an official Apple Watch app.
In an exchange on X – the artist formerly known as Twitter – the Tesla CEO responded to a question from a frustrated owner asking whether Apple Watch integration could be incorporated.
“Sure,” Musk responded when asked, though it’s not yet clear whether the company will indeed follow up with the request.
It’s not even clear whether Tesla was even considering making an Apple Watch app until this moment, actually, given that it’s so far steered clear of developing one for the smartwatch.
Sure

But there’s clearly demand for proper integration, with notable third-party apps like Tessie filling the void in the meantime, and an official version could add some neat integrations for Apple Watch owners.
Other than simply unlocking the car, which is currently possible via the iPhone, the Watch could also be used to remotely start the car, control the air conditioning, and more.
Again, though, all of this is just speculative – we only have Elon’s singular word to go off at this stage, even if support would seem like a no-brainer.
Apple’s Car Key functionality, after all, is currently limited to just a select number of newer BMW models, and Tesla rival Rivian announced late last year it was working on a way to allow the smartwatch to unlock its vehicles.
Until we hear more, stay tuned – and remember to carry your Tesla Key Card in your sock just in case.
