Big price tag
All eyes are on the Google Pixel Watch, which is the last of the major new smartwatches to get a release in 2022.
Google confirmed the existence of its long-rumored smartwatch back at Google I/O in June, but only committed to a “Fall” release.
But now new leaks seem to offer details on an exact price and release date for Google’s smartwatch.
The ever-reliable 9to5Google has revealed that the Bluetooth+GPS model will launch for $349, which will match the Apple Watch for pricing.
However, it will be significantly more expensive than its real rival, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5, which costs just $279.
In a previous leak, 9to5Google reported that the LTE model will cost $399.
We also have details on colors too.

A separate leak also alleges that the release date will be early November – a couple of weeks after the launch of the Pixel 7 smartphone.
German site Caschy’s Blog cites sources that the Pixel Watch will drop on 11 November.
Analysis
Google has its work cut out to beat the Galaxy Watch 5 – but we have high hopes for its first smartwatch.
Samsung managed to launch its new smartwatch a month before Google and keep the price under $300. That could count for a lot as global financial woes mount.
There have also been concerns that the Pixel Watch is powered by dated technology, which could hurt performance.
But Google has aces up its sleeve. The design of the Pixel Watch looks excellent, and it’s got that Fitbit integration to shout about. It might not match the blood pressure and ECG of the Galaxy Watch 5, but those are great reasons to get people to jump on board.
There’s a lot we don’t know about the Pixel Watch, so as ever, watch this space.
