Give your smartwatch a reboot or factory reset with these steps
When fixing the odd issue or bug with the Huawei Watch GT 4, it can be very useful to know how to reset it.
The first thing to try is a simple restart, which turns the device off and on again. This could be all that’s needed to help solve any problems that arise.
However, if you’re still experiencing issues, you may have to perform a full reset – one that erases all the data on the watch. This will mean you’ll need to set the watch up again, but it can help to resolve any lingering snags.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to do both. It should allow you to get your watch working in no time.
Restart the Huawei Watch GT 4
This is the first port of call when troubleshooting, and simply turns the watch off and on again.
1. Locate the digital crown

Locate the watch’s crown – the metal dial on the outside of the watch at 2 o’clock.
2. Press and hold the crown

Once you’ve located the crown, press it down and hold for about four seconds, or until the screen changes.
3. Select ‘Restart’

Two options will appear on the screen – ‘Restart’ and ‘Power off’. Choose the ‘Restart’ option by pressing on the screen.
Then, press ‘Restart’ again to confirm your choice.
4. Complete

You will see the Huawei logo appear on the screen, and the watch will turn back on again. Your device has now restarted.

Just like when resetting your watch, you will first want to press the crown button, which is on the top left on the outside of the case. This should bring up a menu.
2. Find ‘Settings’

3. Select ‘System & updates’

4. Choose ‘Reset’

Pick the ‘Reset’ option, and touch the blue tick on the right of the screen to confirm.
5. Complete

After a few moments, your watch should turn on again and will have returned to the factory settings.
You’ll next need to pair it with an Android/iPhone and start from scratch.
