SAFE Kids Paxie Band wants to keep your children safe and healthy

SAFE Family is looking to get in on the booming child-security based wearable tech market with the launch of the SAFE Kids Paxie Band.

Similar to the likes of the Filip 2 tracker that is on sale in the States through AT&T and the LG GizmoPal, which Verizon supplies, the SAFE Kids Paxie Band offers a range of features to keep kids safe and healthy and provide their parents piece of mind.

The funky looking bracelets, which come in a number of different interchangeable styles to suit children's ever changing fashion needs, contain GPS connectivity - allowing parents to not only track their kids' locations but also letting them set boundaries of where there kids should be.

Everything is tracked through a smartphone app (iOS and Android) and an alarm will sound if a little 'un leaves his or her safe zone.


As well as the location features, the band also monitors ambient temperature to help prevent heat stroke and there are heart-rate and activity tracking sensors built in as well, making it easy to keep track of how active a child has been.

“Day after day, we hear stories of tragic accidents happening to children, often occurring while they are away from their parents,” said Merle Lee Freeman, Founder of SAFE Family. “My mission in creating this wearable was to come up with a device that would be fashionable and fun for children while allowing their parents to keep a pulse on their safety while they are apart. The Paxie band also tracks activity to encourage healthy and active lifestyles.”

Unlike the kid safety wearables from LG and Filip, there's no calling functionality on the Paxie - but the fitness tracking features do set it apart from its rivals.

However, at $175 upfront and then $9.99 a month - it's quite a hefty price to pay. Pre-orders are opening this week and shipping is expected to begin in May.
