Sending routes you find on Komoot to your Garmin watch is a must if you want to follow along the easy way from the wrist.
You'll need the Komoot app for Garmin downloaded on your device - with the list of compatible Garmin watches now pretty wide-ranging - but the process is otherwise very straightforward.
Simply follow the instructions below to get started with transferring Tours to your watch.
Compatible Garmin watches
The list of Garmin watches is pretty extensive, and if your watch runs Garmin Connect IQ then it will run Komoot. But as a point of reference that includes:
- Forerunner 245/255/265745
- Forerunner 945/945 LTE
- Forerunner 955/955/965
- Fenix 5-7
- Instinct 2
1. Find the Komoot Tour you want to send
Either on the web or your iOS/Android device, open Komoot and begin searching for the Tour you want to send to your Garmin device.
2. Send to your Garmin device
Once you've found the route you wish to send, find the 'Send to Device' option on the screen and then click 'Garmin' when prompted to choose a device.
If you have more than one Garmin watch with Komoot for Garmin downloaded, the Tour will be sent to all devices that are synced.
3. Open the Komoot app on your Garmin device
On your selected device, open the Komoot app for Garmin by pressing 'Start/Stop' and scrolling down the list.
From here, you should immediately be met with a screen that says 'Tour Received'.
You'll then be given the option to 'Open' or select the green tick, which will then bring up more detail about the Tour.
It is then downloaded to your device for offline use.
4. Begin following the Komoot Tour
Once the Tour is downloaded onto your Garmin device, you'll be able to follow it any time by opening the Komoot app, selecting it from the list of 'Planned Tours' and pressing 'Start'.
