Tech startup VirZoom has announced that preorders are now available for its flagship device of the same name.
This isn't your regular exercise bike... it comes packing virtual reality. So, you can zoom through the air on a Pegasus, chase down bandits while on horseback, or zoom down a racetrack in a Formula 1.
The fitness gadget is compatible with major virtual reality headset with position tracking, like the upcoming Sony PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive. It features wireless sensors that are integrated into the pedals so when you pedal faster in real life, you'll speed up in the game. There are also action buttons on the handlebars so you can perform such feats as throwing a lasso or shooting bad guys while you move.
The VirZoom will come with three to five games at the start, but the company is working with game makers to add more content later. For a $9.99 monthly fee, subscribers will have access to online multiplayer games, fitness tracking, and fitness routine scheduling.
You can preorder the VirZoom for $200. That's the price for the first 300 orders, with the full retail price tag coming in at $250. It is expected to ship in the first half of 2016.
