Wahoo Fitness has unveiled the Trackr Heart Rate, its latest heart rate monitor chest strap.
The Trackr Heart Rate uses a rechargeable battery that can provide 100 hours of active battery life between charges.
That means no more fiddling with a screwdriver to take off the cover or having to buy a new pack of coin cell batteries every year because you lost the last pack (just me?). It’s also way better for the environment than chucking out batteries, according to Wahoo.
Wahoo says it has improved the algorithms for even better accuracy and performance.
And it says it has included a “non-invasive side closure” for better movement and comfort. We assume that means the buckle isn’t on your back, ready to dig in during workouts.
It connects with ANT+ and supports multiple Bluetooth devices, including indoor training systems, GPS smartwatches, smartphones, and various fitness apps.
And it manages IPX7 water resistance. That means it’s sweat and splash resistant, but don’t take this one in the pool.
There’s a status LED to help you pair, but it doesn’t feature extra sensors for things like running dynamics or form. It’s pretty much heart rate only for this one.
The Wahoo TRACKR Heart Rate will cost £79.99/$89.99.
