The Richline Group is back with more costume smart jewellery following the Emanuel Ungaro smart ring. The new Ela collection consists of four bracelets with Italian marble quartz stones and a range of bands including leather and 18-karat gold plated.

The smart bracelets will go on sale on Amazon in April and cost between $195 and $295 with smart rings and necklaces planned in future.

So what can they do? The features are listed as firstly, custom colour and vibration alerts from iOS and Android phones. You can apparently assign up to eight different colours for different contacts so you know who is getting in touch. Now, we're not sure which part of the gem lights up just yet but it's a nice addition.

Ela bracelets also function as fitness trackers, handling step counting and syncing to both Apple HealthKit and Google Fit. That's all we know about that side of things at the moment.

Bonus side trivia: Warren Buffet is the chairman of Berkshire Hathaway which owns Richline and had this to say recently: "Jewelry is a centuries-old business that isn't going anywhere, so it's a safe bet. With the addition of technology, we're simply updating something everyone knows and loves to better fit our modern age."

You got it, Warren.
