Google Home has come on leaps and bounds since its arrival, and not only is it now getting a UK release (finally!) but a bunch more smart home integrations too.

First off, Logitech's Harmony line, TP-Link, Wink, LIFX, Vivent, Rachio, and Best Buy's Insignia will all now support the platform.

You'll be able to use the power of voice to control all your devices that integrate with Logitech's Harmony, whether that's switching on speakers or a TV. If you have a Wink Hub, you can now control your lights and thermostat through Home, while the hub-less LIFX will let you change the brightness and colour of your bulbs.

August has also announced that its Smart Lock now supports Google's smart home platform too, letting you lock your door and check its status by asking Assistant, however for now you can't unlock doors - that functionality is on its way, according to the company.

Amazon's Alexa already supported August, and in fact, all of these new integrations put Google Home on a more even keel with the Echo platform. Home has, until now, been lacking in the home automation department, so we're glad to see it get this flood of support.

With Google Assistant moving beyond Home and the Pixel smartphone into more devices, the platform has a hell of a lot of potential.
