Smarter, the British company that gave the world the iKettle, has used CES 2016 to unleash a new set of products for your connected kitchen.
The Smarter range, which is due to land in the summer, aims to keep you updated with all manner of kitchen issues, using simple solutions.
Here's what you've got to look to forward to.
Smarter Fridge Cam
Yes, this is a security camera that goes inside your fridge. But while it's unlikely to get footage of burglars stealing your I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, it will provide a snapshot of your chilled goods situation.
For example, you're in the supermarket and you can't remember if you polished off all of your cheddar during that 2am drunken raid. You can simply open the app and get a real-time image of the inside of your fridge.
It's got a suction pad on so it simply sticks on the side and it also provides the temperature reading from inside too.
These are more specific than the camera and work inside cupboards as well as your fridge. Coming with either one, two or four sensors, and in a range of colours, the connected mats simply tell you when you're running low on specific items - by measuring the weight of the items on top of them.
The app also includes funky visuals for specific items like Heinz ketchup or milk.
We're not really sure how this works but we're told that this sensor can keep tabs on a wide array of kitchen scenarios such as an oven reaching a desired temperature, a fridge door being left open, a washing machine completing its cycle and so on.
We'll take their word for it.
The new Smarter range goes on sale in the summer of 2016, and will be available from Amazon, Apple and other major retailers. The app is available for both iOS and Android. There's no word on pricing yet, but here's hoping we won't have to break the bank to own just one of them.
