Fitbit has officially unveiled two new smartwatches – the Fitbit Sense and Fitbit Versa 3.

Images and details leaked before the launch, but we got a whole lot more.

The Fitbit Sense marks the company’s leap from fitness tracking to health, and is one of the most complete health devices we’ve seen to date.

As expected Fitbit Sense included ECG for the first time on a Fitbit, with afib detection and high/low heart rate alerts.

But its new biosensor core features temperature tracking, which alongside a new focus on breathing rate, heart rate variability, and old favourites such as resting HR and blood oxygen, can act as an early warning system for infections such as Covid-19.

And the Fitbit Sense is focused on stress tracking, using a electrodermal sensor that reads stress responses from the skin. It produced a daily stress score, just like the sleep score, augmented with input about your mood, and is linked to mindfulness and guided meditation designed to alleviate symptoms.

In addition the Fitbit Sense brings across standard Fitbit smartwatch features such as notifications, fitness tracking, music playback and control, GPS and tracking of 20 sports and Fitbit Pay.

The company also unveiled the Fitbit Versa 3.
