How to change watch faces on Wear OS

One of the biggest benefits of a Wear OS smartwatch is the ability to change the watch face whenever you want.

Each Wear smartwatch offers a unique library of watch faces you won't find anywhere else. So, the stock options on a Fossil device are quite different to, say, a Misfit or Armani watch, even though they all run Wear OS.

Change watch faces on Wear OS

Mixing up your home screen on Wear OS is so simple that you're likely to stumble across it without even trying. However, if you need a refresher, follow these steps.

1. Tap the screen on your watch to wake the home screen.

2. Once woke, touch and hold the screen for two seconds.

3. This will bring up the library of watch faces for you to swipe between.

4. To select a new design, tap the watch face you want.

Add a new watch face on Wear OS

If you're not content with the stock selection of faces on your watch, you do have the option to add more. You can also remove watch faces from the on-watch library by swiping up on them.

1. Tap the screen on your watch to wake the home screen.

2. Once woke, touch and hold the screen for two seconds.

3. This will bring up the library of watch faces for you to swipe between.

4. Swipe to the far-right side of the library and tap 'Add more watch faces'.

Tip: If you want to add more watch faces to the library, you can also go the Wear OS app on your phone, head to the 'Watch faces' section and install them manually.

You also have the option to download a third-party app from the Google Play Store on your watch.

Customize a watch face on Wear OS

If you want to alter the color, complications or layout of your watch face, a select amount of Wear OS faces allow you to do customize directly from the wrist.

1. Bring up the watch faces library on your watch.

2. Hover over a watch face that sits above the 'Settings' icon, then tap the cog.

3. If you want to change the complications, tap 'Data' and then a section of the screen that's circled. If you want to change the color or design of your face, tap 'Styles' and then swipe up and down the menu.

4. Once you're satisfied with your creation, tap the watch face to save it.
