It looks like we have some big evidence that the Apple Watch Series 4 is coming soon thanks to a bunch of model numbers that have rocked up at the EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission).

Much like the FCC in the US, the EEC is the place where new devices being sold in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia stop by ahead of release. French blog Consomac spotted six model numbers: A1977, A1978, A1975, A1976, A2007, and A2008. The model numbers appear to correspond with similar numbers assigned to previous Apple Watch models.

But these numbers are brand new and it's interesting that there's only six model numbers when there were eight for the Watch Series 3. We already know that Apple offers its smartwatches in two sizes and does offer LTE and non LTE options. Could Apple be planning to ditch on of its Watch models? We can only speculate.

Apple is expected to reveal all at an event some time in September where we anticipate the new Watch will appear alongside new iPhones and maybe even some new Apple AirPods as well. The company hasn't said if or when this event is happening, but based on the fact that the event has taken place roughly around the same time the past couple of years, we anticipate that it will probably be something similar this year.

So what can we expect from the Apple Watch Series 4? Well, one thing we probably know for sure is that it will be packing watchOS 5, which Apple introduced at WWDC earlier this year. The incoming software update brings a host of improvements including enhanced Siri features and new activity tracking smarts.

Reliable industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the Series 4 will bring a new look including a larger display and a bigger battery. We are also hoping to see Apple bring sleep tracking into the fold after it acquired sleep tracking company Beddit in 2017. But then maybe it's a bit too early to see that being added into the fitness tracking mix. We'd definitely like to see it though.

Whatever Apple has in store, judging by the arrival of these model numbers at the ECC, we won't have to wait much longer to find out.
