Wareable is hiring….

Are you looking for an exciting new full-time role writing about tech? Do you live and breathe the latest tech trends and have a passion for the connected self?

If so, we have a job for you.

We are looking for an enthusiastic journalist to join our team as a full-time reporter.

About you

You'll be covering everything that's new in the world of wearable and connected self technology, including VR and the smart home. You'll be knee-deep in the latest devices, testing them out for our knowledgeable audience.

If you're interested in health, fitness, home, fashion or gaming as well as consumer tech, you could be a great fit. We care more about covering innovations and startups, analysing how they will make an impact and helping people to get the most out of their devices than obsessing over specs.

You'll ideally have some experience working for a consumer technology/lifestyle title, a vast knowledge of the latest goings-on in the industry, some decent contacts and an appropriate journalism qualification.

The ideal candidate will be based in the Bay Area, preferably close to or in San Francisco city with the ability to commute and be happy to get out and get their teeth stuck into the biggest stories.

Our readership is wider and more diverse than some other tech sites so if you think you'd be a good addition to the team then apply.

The role

Working across news, features and reviews you'll get a chance to contribute to all areas of the site, as well as play an active role in our social media activities.

This isn't a regular 9 - 5 gig. You'll have plenty of freedom to explore areas you feel passionately about, pitch and pen the stories you want to write, and you won't be tied down to your desk. There will be plenty of opportunities to get out and about, meeting the companies and seeing the products that are shaping the latest revolution in technology.

We're a thriving site with big ambitions. We're really pleased with our early growth and our standing in the industry but we're looking to push things even further – this is your chance to really make a name for yourself on a site that has become the voice of authority for wearable and connected self tech.

The hours are flexible and we're offering a generous salary (based on experience).

This would be the perfect job for someone looking for a full-time staff position on a lifestyle and technology title. If that sounds like you, email hugh@wareable.com with your CV and a cover letter telling us why you're a good fit for the job. Deadline for applications is 15 January 2017.

Hugh Langley

By

Now at Business Insider, Hugh originally joined Wareable from TechRadar where he’d been writing news, features, reviews and just about everything else you can think of for three years.

Hugh is now a correspondent at Business Insider.

Prior to Wareable, Hugh freelanced while studying, writing about bad indie bands and slightly better movies. He found his way into tech journalism at the beginning of the wearables boom, when everyone was talking about Google Glass and the Oculus Rift was merely a Kickstarter campaign - and has been fascinated ever since.

He’s particularly interested in VR and any fitness tech that will help him (eventually) get back into shape. Hugh has also written for T3, Wired, Total Film, Little White Lies and China Daily.
