Oculus Rift pre-orders are now open and we finally have a price and a shipping date for the much anticipated VR headset: $599 and March 2016.
That means it will beat the HTC Vive Pre to market by a month.
After the bad news last week that the Oculus Rift won't ship with the Touch controllers, VR enthusiasts will be relieved that the company has stuck to its promise of an early 2016 launch.
In the box you'll get the Oculus Rift headset, an Xbox One controller, a remote control, the necessary cables and two games: Lucky's Tale by Playful, and CCP's EVE: Valkyrie.

As mentioned, there won't be the dedicated Oculus Touch controllers in the box though. "On the path to perfecting Touch, we've decided that we need more time before release," read a post on the Oculus blog at the end of last week.
"We've made significant advances in ergonomics, and we're implementing many changes that make Touch even more comfortable, reliable, and natural. We're also implementing changes that improve hand pose recognition."
Oculus is also stressing that you make sure your PC is up to the task though. There's a handy tool to download to check if it is.
