LG KizON kid tracker coming to Europe

Child friendly wearables to be available outside Korea for the first time
LG KizON kid coming to Europe

The LG KizOn, the kid tracker that is only available in Korea at the moment, is getting a Europe-wide release.

The KizON is a wearable device designed for younger kids that offers real-time GPS tracking using a companion app, as well as calling features too - similar to the Filip 2 tracker that has just gone on the sale in the States through AT&T.

Pre-configured numbers can be stored in the KizON device and calls to and from these numbers only can be made. If a call from a stored number isn't answered within 10 seconds, the connection will happen automatically and worried parents will be able to listen to the situation that their child is in.

More importantly, for the wearers at least, is that the face is customisable; LG has already shown off Tobot and Hello Kitty versions of the tracker, and we understand more partnerships will arrive in the future.

“KizON was developed in response to customers’ opinions that technology should be used to improve the lives of all consumers and it occurred to us that children had the most to gain because they’re the most vulnerable,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics.

“With KizON meeting the highest standards of child-friendly products, parents and guardians can find comfort in knowing that their children’s first exposure to wearable technology is a safe one.”

There's no word on pricing or an exact release date as of yet but, as always, we'll keep you posted.
