The Apple Watch has bagged the prize for the best smartwatch of 2015 at the TechRadar Phone Awards.
Expert judges from the biggest names in technology – and none bigger than our own editor-in-chief Paul Lamkin – gave Apple the top gong with the Sony SmartWatch 3 getting the highly commended nod.

"The smartwatch category, new for this year, was also hotly contested, with Sony's budget-friendly device taking on the beauty of Apple's Watch – it means that whether you're on Android or iPhone there's a great choice for you," said judges spokesman Gareth Beavis.
The two smartwatches have been closely matched, and it's the Sony that currently holds Wareable's best smartwatch of 2015 badge of honour thanks to the built-in GPS, Google Now and the much more favourable price tag.
However, as we've reported this week, the Apple Watch has easily blown away its smartwatch competition, and now holds a 75% market share. What's more, the recent expansion of Apple Pay and the announcement of native apps coming with watchOS 2 this Autumn makes it a real contender for a promotion later this year.
